Helen completed her Masters in Periodontology with Distinction from the University of Otago in 2005, gaining her specialist Royal Australasian College Fellowship that same year. After nearly 20 years as the only periodontist in Nelson, she relocated to sunny Hawke’s Bay and is proud to be part of The Dental Institute where she works as a specialist periodontist treating advanced gum disease, placing dental implants, and providing bone grafting and soft tissue grafting surgery. She is thrilled to offer the latest CBCT jaw scanning imaging technology at The Dental Institute to ensure patients are offered the highest level of treatment and digitally guided accuracy. Helen is a specialist provider for ACC, a member of the Australia and New Zealand Academy of Periodontists and the International Team of Implantology and has been the Specialists Representative on the board of the NZ Dental Association for a number of years. She is a regular fixture on the conference speaking circuit, both nationally and internationally, recently lecturing and providing training courses for the International Academy of Periodontology, The Swiss Dental Academy, the Australian RACDS Convocation, and the New Zealand Dental Association. Her young daughter Georgia keeps her on her toes outside work and she loves languages, travelling to exotic places, enjoying the great outdoors with her family and dogs, and long lunches full of fine food with friends.
